Summary
Use this guide to transfer the Microsoft Authenticator app from your old phone to your new phone.
Prerequisites:
- Your SD68 username and password.
- A computer with a web browser.
- Your old phone.
- Your new phone.
If your old phone is lost or unavailable, contact IT via service68.

Instructions
These instructions are in two parts: Part 1 is to set up Microsoft Authenticator on your new phone, and Part 2 is to remove it from your old phone.
Part 1 - Set up Authenticator on your new phone
- On your new phone, install the Microsoft Authenticator app. The app will be available from the Google Play App Store (Android) and the Apple App Store (iPhone).
Be aware that the Microsoft Authenticator app is free, and will not require payment, in-app payments or a subscription.
- On your computer, open a browser and sign-in to your SD68 account Security Info page at https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo. You may need to authenticate with Microsoft Authenticator on your old phone.
- Select Add sign-in method.

- Select Microsoft Authenticator, and click Add.

- The next screen will ask you to download the app. This should be completed from Step 1, so click Next.
- Select Next again, and you will see the following screen displaying a QR code:

- On your new phone, open Microsoft Authenticator app and click the + button at the top.

- Select Work or school account.

- Select Scan a QR code, then point your phone at the QR code on the computer screen. You may be prompted to allow the app to access your camera.

- On your computer, Select Next. You will be prompted to "try it out" to make sure everything is working.
- You'll receive a push notification on your new phone. Enter the 2-digit number and approve the request to confirm it works.
Congratulations, you have successfully set up Microsoft Authenticator on your new phone.
Part 2 - Remove Authenticator app from your old phone
After confirming Authenticator works on your new phone, you should remove your accounts an uninstall the app on your old phone.
- On your old phone, open Microsoft Authenticator and tap your SD68 account.

- Tap the Settings icon at the top right corner.

- Tap Remove account.

- If you don't need it for other accounts, uninstall the app from your phone.
Optional: You can also remove the old Authenticator registration from your Security Info page:
- On your computer, open a browser and sign-in to your SD68 account Security Info page at https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.
- Find the method linked to your old phone (indicated by the phone type), and click the Delete button to remove it.
